Frequently Asked Questions
At MOAI Health, our message is clear: mental health is as important as physical health. Just as we would seek first aid for a physical injury, it is important to know how to provide first aid for mental ill health. The mental health first aid courses are designed to equip people with the knowledge and skills to recognise and respond to mental health difficulties within your organisation or community.
Our key differentiator from all other mental health first aid courses is that our courses are written and delivered exclusively by RCPsych qualified Psychiatrists. We pride ourselves in delivering the most relevant and clinically sound knowledge, sharing first hand experience in all our courses.
We run three courses, the mental health awareness, champion and first aider course. Each of the three courses builds on the knowledge and skills learnt from the previous.
The mental health awareness course is aimed at everyone! It provides the foundation for learning about mental health. The mental health champion course is aimed at those interested to learn more. We encourage all workplace leaders or those in management positions to complete the champion course in order to make a big difference to the culture of your organisation.Any mental health champion can go on to complete the first aider qualification, which equips you with the practical skills to help others in need.
The mental health awareness and champion courses can be run both virtually and in-person. The mental health first aider course is only delivered in person due to the practical elements of the material. For all the courses, we are happy to come to your organisation to deliver the course in-person!
Yes, a MOAI certificate of completion will be sent for your portfolio. After you complete the MOAI mental health first aid course and examination, you will be awarded with a MOAI Health certification in mental health first aid which is valid for 3 years.
The mental health awareness and champion courses are for your learning, and you will not be tested on this material. In order to obtain the mental health first aid status, and receive your MOAI Health certification, you will need to complete a short, online multiple choice examination. The pass mark for this examination is 70% and you will be emailed the results shortly after the completion of the course. If you do not pass on your first attempt, you will have another opportunity to complete it.
Please visit the booking page of our website, and sign up for a specific course by choosing a date on the calendar. Once you have completed your booking, you will be sent a confirmation email with the pre-reading material and course link.
You can reschedule or cancel up to 48 hours before the course. If you cancel within 48 hours, you may be subject to a 25% cancellation charge.
You will have the opportunity to provide feedback in person and via a feedback link on the day of your course. If you wish to provide further feedback or make a complaint, please contact us at contact-us@moaihealth.app.
