The role of mental health training in the workplace

In addition to the emotional impact of mental illness for individuals, research shows that mental health problems in the UK workforce results in 70 million working days lost each year, and an overall cost of £119 billion to the UK economy.
Offering mental health training to employees is a critical first step in reducing the impact of mental illness, equipping your team with the ability to better spot and respond to signs of mental ill health.
We recommend that all staff have the opportunity to complete a mental health awareness course, whilst managers become mental health champions and a select number of leads complete our mental health first aider course.
